Rhea Bagaria’s legal journey began at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, followed by several years of litigating at well-known law firms. Through this experience, she discovered that her true passion wasn’t the practice of law itself but the people behind it.
This realization led her to legal recruiting, where she quickly rose to the top—becoming the #1 legal recruiter in the country out of 450 search professionals at one of the nation’s largest recruitment firms. Yet, even at the height of her success, she saw an industry that often prioritized numbers over people. She believed lawyers deserved more—more strategy, more transparency, and more thoughtful career guidance.
Fueled by this vision, she founded The Lateral Edge. Rhea takes a highly personalized approach to every move, investing time in truly understanding each lawyer’s unique path to ensure that every transition feels right.
Her philosophy is simple: legal careers aren’t one-size-fits-all. The Lateral Edge is dedicated to helping lawyers navigate their careers with clarity, confidence, and a trusted partner by their side.
Outside of work, Rhea is always learning. She’s an avid reader and a big fan of the Founders podcast. She values relationships above all else, finding joy in personal and professional growth, spending time with family, and making new friends.

Stephen Conklin keeps The Lateral Edge running smoothly, balancing efficiency with a thoughtful, strategic approach. As Director of Operations, he handles the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the firm organized and on track, from streamlining processes to supporting key business initiatives.
With an engineering degree and a background in project management, Stephen brings an analytical and structured approach to every challenge.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find him staying active—whether it’s playing sports, spending time with family and friends, or soaking up sunshine at the beach.
